Clouds will gradually clear from west to east Tuesday after a cold front moved through the state overnight.  Another round of thunderstorms and heavy rain is expected Wednesday into Thursday for the state, with severe weather possible.

A strong storm system will move through the Plains mid-week, bringing the chance for flooding rains and severe storms.  Storms are possible Wednesday morning, with hail and winds being the main threats.  Late Wednesday afternoon and evening, there is a threat for severe storms from southern into central Oklahoma, with the threat for hail, strong winds, and possibly isolated tornadoes.  Strong to severe storms will continue to be possible into Thursday mid-day before this system exits the region.

Any of these storms will be capable of producing very heavy rainfall in a short amount of time, and flash flooding is possible.  Monitor local conditions and take flooding safety precautions.  Do not drive into roads covered with water, as the road could be washed out underneath.  Stay away from canals, rivers, creeks, and drainage ditches.  Most vehicles can be swept away by just two feet of water.
