NINNEKAH, Okla. -- A man killed in a fiery crash Wednesday has been identified as 70-year-old Robert Lee Burkes, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said.

Burkes was driving a pickup truck, hauling a trailer full of cattle, down U.S. 277 near the town of Ninnekah in Grady County, police said.

At around 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, at the intersection of U.S. 277 and Mockingbird Rd., Burke collided with a tanker-truck filled with gasoline. The two trucks caught fire and Burke was found dead at the scene, said authorities.

The driver of the tanker-truck is in stable condition at a local hospital, officials said.

Troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash.
