Man arrested after assault, panty theft complaints

BETHANY, Okla. (AP) - Bethany police have arrested a 19-year-old man after a string of incidents in the area involving physical assaults and women's panties.

Police Chief Phil Cole says an officer arrested Paul Ryan Whitestar on Friday. Cole says Whitestar is a student at Putnam City West High School in Oklahoma City and has no record of prior arrests.

Cole says the arrest came after a woman at an apartment complex contacted authorities and told them a man had just offered her money to expose her breasts.

Cole says police in Bethany and Warr Acres have received reports from six women about similar incidents.

The reports described a man who left panties hanging on doorknobs, stuffed panties down women's pants or offered to buy panties or pay women to model panties.
