Police and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services were reportedly called three times before a four-year-old Claremore boy died, officials said.
Christopher Barnard died on Monday after his step-father Steven Lockler allegedly punched him twice in the stomach.
Burial services for Barnard will be held on Friday.
