Guthrie police said they are pursuing charges against a man who admitted to shooting and killing five hunting dogs near Liberty Lake.

Rodney Luckenbill said he killed the dogs after several of them tried to attack his cattle on his private property. The dogs' owners dispute that story and said Luckenbill chased the dogs back onto city property, pulled out a gun and shot each dog.

Guthrie Police Chief Damon Devereaux said he's now waiting to hear back from the District Attorney's office on what, if any, charges will be accepted.
