A Garfield County man has been sentenced to 60 weekends in jail after pleading guilty in a murder-for-hire plot.

Andrew Harshman must serve at least one weekend each month in the Garfield County jail for trying to hire a hit man to kill Rick Childs. Authorities say Childs was married to Harshman's ex-girlfriend.

Police said Harshman offered $36,000 to an undercover officer who was posing as a hit man.

In addition to jail, Harshman was also given a five-year suspended sentence.
