May means the school year is winding down, graduations, planning summer vacations and a time to focus on Mom! Mother's Day will be celebrated on Sunday May 11th. I am actually going shopping today to buy my mom her gift, we were shopping together recently and I remember a purse that she liked.
It is always nice to get mom something she wants rather than spending a lot of money on something she doesn't like.
But now that I have a son of my own I understand the importance of the one gift for mom that doesn't cost a thing. Let mom know how grateful you are for her and what she means to you in a letter. Moms sacrifice so much for their children and a written word of love and appreciation is something she can hold on to and read and re-read now and years to come. Telling mom you love her is the best gift you can give and will put a smile on her face and in her heart.
Speaking of Moms, we met a great lady this week on Power for your Pocketbook, Hannah Keeley. She is a mom of seven, yes seven children (no twins.) She stopped by our studios this week. She is an author, mom blogger and founder of www.TotalMom.com, a complete online resource for moms that has partnered with Libby's food to get families back to the dinner table and provide tips for stretching dollars without compromising the quality of meals and family time. Check out her website and the Libby's website, www.GetBacktotheTable.com, for some great tips.
Hope everyone has a blessed Mother's Day. Even Gary says it looks like great weather for Sunday :).
