Facing the increasing gas prices, three young men are utilizing an alternative approach to transportation.
Caleb Cramer, Jonathan Cramer and Brandon Heinken are walking nearly 140 miles to Gainesville, Texas.
"A lot of people can't do stuff like this," Caleb Cramer said. "I just have the ability to do so, so I figured, ‘Why not?'"
The journey is their way of encouraging people to walk, instead of paying the high prices at the gas pump.
"I drive to UCO," Caleb Cramer said. "It's about 10 bucks to drive out there. I go five days a week, so it kills me."
The three started planning the walk about two weeks ago, much to the disbelief of their families and friends.
"To get to Gainesville...it will cost a little over $100 to get there by car," Jonathan Cramer said. "By walking, it doesn't cost up anything."
The three young men said they're getting mixed reviews from people who find out about their journey.
"Most of them think we're crazy," Heinken said. "Some of them are kind of like it, they're inspired. They'd like to get out and do something like that...have an adventure, you know?"
The trio plans to reach the destination of Gainesville by Thursday. But they haven't figured out how they will get back home.
