John Rodriguez, one of Lubbock's most wanted, was arrested Monday in Woodward, Oklahoma.

Rodriguez's victim, Megan Mask said she's relieved that he's behind bars, but she's not celebrating until he's back in Texas to face charges.

"He prays on women and he knows what to say to get what he wants," Mask said. "He does not need to be out there. He's a danger for other women."

Mask said Rodriguez is a former boyfriend. According to Mask, Rodriguez became jealous and violent at a party. He forced her into his truck, beat her and started strangling her.

"He snapped, completely. It was someone I had never seen before," Mask said. "I really thought I was going to die in the truck that night."

Mask said he held her captive for hours before letting her go.

Rodriguez was later charged with aggravated assault and kidnapping in Lubbock, Texas. He bailed out of jail, and allegedly sent e-mails posing as Mask, which provoked police into looking for him again.

"He obviously has a violent nature to himself, and we'd like to get him in custody as soon as we can," said Woodward County Sheriff Don Bradley.

Rodriguez, who was staying at his mother's house in Woodward, turned himself in.

The Woodward Sheriff's Department said they knew Rodriguez was wanted out of Lubbock for tampering with evidence, but they didn't know about the assault and kidnapping.

Rodriguez's bail was set for just $5,000 and he was out until his arrest Monday morning. With a new warrant from Lubbock, Woodward deputies again arrested Rodriguez.

"I'm excited, but I don't want to get too excited because I'm afraid something else is going to slip up and there's going to be a glitch and he's going to get out," Mark said.
