DHS closes OKC day care

The Oklahoma Department of Human Services has closed an Oklahoma City day care by emergency order because the owner's husband violated a ban on being there during child care hours. 

DHS officials shut down Regina's Little Gift Home Child Care in northwest Oklahoma City on Tuesday after finding the owner's husband, Lance Grace, at the day care.

Officials say Lance Grace was banned from the center while children are present because he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor in December 2006 for assaulting his wife.

Regina Grace says her husband works at night as a security guard and was asleep when DHS workers arrived Tuesday. She says he usually sleeps elsewhere during the day.

Regina Grace says she will appeal the closure order.
