Hey everyone.. Now that Memorial Day is over ... you may be thinking about Summer Vacation.  If Money is tight...  it doesn't mean your family can"t still make a memory for the summer.  So if you are planning on traveling and the budget isn't as big... Don't worry the "Power for your Pocketbook"                                 ... has some great ideas for you!

First of all... Vacation near "Home Sweet Home."  Plenty of people did this for Memorial Day ... if you stay close to home you could save money on driving .. look for day trips where you can return home.... remember the Oklahoma City Zoo... the Sam Noble Museum.. or even the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks.. is a great favorite for the kids.

And If you are traveling... look for places to stay overnight that don't cost as much.  The Internet may have the best deals. And a reminder that some small colleges rent dorm rooms through the summer. Also make a memory by camping.... the campsites are cheaper and your kids will remember the trip forever. (My family still laughs about the bad hamburgers we had when we were camping out years ago. ) (lol)

And this is like the tv show  "Trading Spaces"  with no decorating (lol).  There are some hospitality sites on the Internet... where you could swap homes... check out www.couchsurfing.com or www.Homeexchange.com.

And on another note.... a couple of weeks ago.. we showed you a place to workout for free over in the Bethany area..."the Cube is at NW 30th and Council Road..... after that story ran I got an email from someone in th Moore area... They told me First Baptist Moore has a great activities center where people come everyday to workout for free too...

Hope you have the best summer ever..Don't forget to e-mail me your great tips on deals or savings.... I love sharing them with our viewers.

Blessings,

Robin
