Police arrested a 21-year-old man Sunday after he allegedly smashed bricks through two drivers' windshields.

The women drivers said Danny Byars was standing on the side of the road near SE 50 St. and Shields Blvd.

Debra Napzer said she thought Byars needed help. When she slowed down to offer assistance, Byars smashed her windshield and tried to steal her purse, she said.

"I stopped and I got out like a fool, and he come at me with a knife," Napzer said. "I said ‘Why did you do this?' And he said ‘I'm gonna do to you like they did to me,' and he had blood all over him."

Another woman was also allegedly attacked, she had children in her car, officials said.

Police arrested Byars a few blocks from the attack.  They said they don't know how he received his injuries. The women were not hurt.
