A Carnegie teen died Friday morning after his truck crashed into oncoming traffic on Interstate 35 south of downtown Oklahoma City, authorities said.

Landon Hilburn, 17, was traveling southbound on Interstate 35 near SE 15 at about 1 a.m. Hilburn crossed the median and collided with a tractor-trailer rig, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

Hilburn was pinned in his truck for an hour while firefighters worked to free him. He was transported to OU Medical Center where he later died from massive injuries, troopers said.

A passenger in Hilburn's truck also was taken to OU Medical Center. He was treated for minor injuries and released, troopers said.

The driver and a passenger from the tractor-trailer were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Investigators still are trying to determine what caused the collision.
