An Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy was hit by a red pick-up truck Tuesday morning, narrowly escaping serious injury, police said.

The deputy was checking on an abandoned pick-up truck on Luther Road, just south of NE 122 St., when a speeding red pick-up truck drove by and clipped the deputy, authorities said.

The deputy suffered minor injuries and is being treated at a metro hospital.

Police did not have any more information on the truck.
