LONE GROVE, Okla.  -- The 18-year-old son of a state legislator has been arrested on a second-degree burglary complaint.

A police report says that Gregory Travis Piatt was arrested early Thursday for allegedly breaking into a food distribution company in Lone Grove run by his father, Majority Floor Leader Greg Piatt of Ardmore.

The younger Piatt was taken to the Carter County jail and his bond was set at $5,000. He will have a preliminary court hearing on July 22.

According to the police report, the elder Piatt told authorities that he didn't know what to do besides pressing charges against his son.

The state representative told police that his son does not live with him or work for him.
