KINGSTON, Okla.-- A 1,000-pound safe has gone missing after a rural country home was robbed in Marshall County, the sheriff's office reported.

The burglar allegedly stole the 4-feet-tall safe from the home on Willis Road just north of Highway 32 in Marshall County and then set the house on fire, officials said.

Authorities said they responded to the fire alarm at 1:45 a.m. About 45 minutes later, officials said they found the white 2006 GMC pickup truck, normally parked at the home, was missing as well as the safe.

At about 3:30 a.m., deputies in Cook County, Texas recovered the missing truck in a lake just northwest of Gainesville, Texas.

The Oklahoma State Fire Marshall's office is investigating the possibility of the home being set ablaze just after the burglary took place.

Anyone with information about the burglary, is asked to call either the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations at 1-800-635-TIPS (8477) or the Marshall County Sheriff's Office at 1-580-795-2221.
