The Salvation Army is trying to help those in need stay cool during the extreme high temperatures by setting up cooling stations around the metro.

The Salvation Army is trying to help those in need stay cool during the extreme high temperatures.

They've set up cooling stations around the metro offering water and air conditioning for those most susceptible to the heat, like senior citizens.

Cooling stations have been set up at:

Red Shield Kitchen - For anyone in need
330 SW 4 Street
Open 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Warr Acres Center - For senior citizens only
4301 N. Ann Arbor

Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Citadel - For senior citizens only
2808 SE 44 Street
670-1871
Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Those needing fans can call 246-1060 to set up an appointment with social services.
