BEAVER, Okla. -- A collision between a car and pickup on a rural Beaver County highway has killed a 20-year-old Beaver man.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Ronald E. Main II died in the accident that happened about 11:30 p.m. Friday night on U.S. Highway 270, about two miles north of Beaver.

Main's car was southbound, while a pickup driven by 38-year-old David Ratliff of Forgan was northbound on the highway. Troopers said Ratliff's pickup went left of center on a curve and hit Main's car on the driver's side.

Both vehicles came to rest in a ditch.

Main was pinned in the wreckage for about a half-hour and died at the scene. Neither Ratliff nor any of his three passengers were injured.
