TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Two months after windstorms downed tons of trees, city officials still are not sure when debris removal will be complete.

One alternative to waiting for city crews to pick up yard debris, is for residents to take the material to the city's green-waste site. No disposal fee will be charged to people with driver's license proof of Tulsa residency.

Paul Strizek, contract manager for Tulsa's Public Works Department, said emergencies and maintaining pot holes and drainages take precedence over debris removal. However, city workers are collecting tree limbs and debris on Saturdays to speed the process.

The debris removal began in June and is about one-third done.
