Woman accidentally shot in Cleveland County

Cleveland County Sheriff's Investigators are looking into a domestic dispute that sent one woman to the hospital.

CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. - Cleveland County Sheriff's Investigators are looking into a domestic dispute that sent one woman to the hospital.

The woman was accidentally shot in the shoulder by her husband Saturday night police said.

The shooting happened on Midnight Drive around 9 p.m near the Norman and Oklahoma City border.

The woman said her brother, sister and brother-in law forced their way into her home and physically assaulted her.

The victim's husband came out with a gun and fired a shot into the air, accidently hitting his wife in the shoulder police said.

"They're alleging they forced their way in and proceeded to assault the wife and he was defending the residence," said Captain Doug Blaine of the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department.

The victim was taken to Norman Regional hospital and her condition has not being released.

One relative was taken to jail for burglary and assault charges. The other relatives are also facing assault charges.
