OKC to crack down on unpaid tickets

Oklahoma City police and city marshals will begin investigating residents with overdue city tickets Aug. 25.

Residents who fail to pay fines on outstanding tickets by Aug. 24 could face arrest, impoundment fees, bond fees and jail costs.

"We are giving people an opportunity to come in, pay their fines and avoid arrest before the crackdown begins," Court Administrator Stacey Davis said.

The city is asking those unable to make payments to come speak with a judge during a walk-in court session, which are held Mondays through Fridays at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Warrants can be paid by phone at 297-2361 or in person at the Municipal Court, 700 Couch Drive, from 7 a.m. to midnight each weekday. Online payments for traffic tickets can be made here.

The city accepts cash and Visa, Discover and American Express cards.
