The story I did today just reaffirmed my fears of guns.  All of ‘em.

18-year old Abby Means of Oklahoma City lost her left eye after her friend shot her in the face.  The friend found the gun in his roommate's bedroom and thought it was a good idea to play with it.   Thinking it was unloading, he pulled the trigger and she Abby's eye out.

I'm not against guns.  Nope.  I believe we all have the right to bear arms and if a homeowner sleeps better at night with a gun near the bed, then more power to ‘em!

It's a crazy, stupid world out there and we need to protect ourselves, our homes and our family.

However, guns are not toys.  Simple.  It's my belief that unless your life or property are in danger, you shouldn't have any reason to pick up a gun.   Why take the risk?

The Oklahoma City Police Department and several other agencies offer free gun locks that can be used to help prevent children who get their tiny hands on a firearm from pulling the trigger.

Did I mention it was free?

Point of this blog:   Guns aren't toys.   Gun locks are free.

That's all.
