Motel employee accused of killing co-worker

NORMAN, Okla. - A Norman motel employee was arrested Thursday for allegedly killing a co-worker.

Juan Antonio Yanez-Escobedo, 38, Norman, was arrested on a complaint of first-degree murder.

Police said Yanez-Escobedo fatally stabbed Sofia Montelongo, 27, Noble, on Thursday morning at the Super 8 Motel, 2400 W Main Street.

Police responded to an injured person call and found Montelongo in a motel room with multiple stab wounds when they arrived on the scene.

Montelongo was taken to an area hospital and died shortly after.

Police have not released a suspected motive.
