A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Friday evening for western Oklahoma.
Strong to severe thunderstorms were developing in the Texas Panhandle mid-afternoon, and are expected to move eastward into western Oklahoma late this afternoon and evening.
The main threats include large hail, damaging wind, and frequent lightning. An isolated tornado may also be possible.
