Rain blanketed the first day of the fair

It's time for the 2008 State Fair of Oklahoma. But the weather is anything but fair for the opening day.

There are corn dogs, Indian tacos, and funnel cakes. Unfortunately, the next few days are also going to feature some rain.

Judging by the few fairgoers that attended the opening day, the rain was enough to discourage some from coming, but not all.

"Well, it could be worse, for the first day of the fair, you know, it's always got to rain," patron Erin Christian said.

The rain was bad news for vendors like Jared Bogart. But he went ahead setting up his toy booth--and hoping for the best.

"It's going to be kind of slow, I imagine," Bogart said. "The next few days until the weather clears, I imagine that's how it's going to be."

If the rain continues, Bogart said he may stop selling toys and start selling rain coats.
