Thursday 10:16 p.m. from Kemah, Texas

Just wrapped up our 10pm live shot, made it here with ten minutes to spare!

Kemah is approx. 15 miles SE of downtown Houston on the way to Galveston and sits on Galveston Bay.

It's a small but growing town with a growing tourism industry. They have a boardwalk and entertainment district they're very proud of.

Problem is Kemah is only 7 feet above sea level, and they're forecasting a 20 foot storm surge.

Time to head to the hotel. I'll be on our radio partner KOKC AM 1520 with Randy Renner in the morning starting at 6:15 a.m.

High fives to Photojournalist David Young (driver) and Managing Editor Brian Eckert (navigator) for getting us here quickly and safely.

And a chest bump to our Sat Truck engineer Bill Newton for having our shot set up and ready to go right when we pulled up to the marina!

More tomorrow from the Hurricane Ike strike zone.
