Good Morning.   I just visited with Randy Renner on KOKC.  We'll talk again around 7:30.

It's warm and breezy here at our hotel near Galveston Bay, but just a few miles away Hurricane Ike's early storm surge is already pounding Galveston's sea wall.

A little history here for you: Galveston built that sea wall after the Hurricane of 1900.  That hurricane killed 6,000 people on the island because of the storm surge.  Galveston was evacuated yesterday and the only people still there are "intrepid" journalists.  We plan to join them later this morning.

It looks like Galveston will take a direct hit.

The hotel manager was kind enough to tell us that after Noon today we're on our own because they're getting out!  That's not real reassuring.

I'm going to walk over to a nearby diner and have a BIG breakfast.  It may be the last hot meal I have for a couple of days because power is expected to be knocked out.  We'll see.  KellyO
