MUSTANG, Okla. -- A Geary man was rescued after being trapped by rising water on the Canadian River near Interstate 40 during a fishing trip Friday afternoon.

The Canadian County Sheriff rescued 65-year-old Donald Hoos, who was stranded on top of a barge after his jeep washed away, officials said.

Hoos called several family members in distress after being trapped by the high water.

"It was rising fastly. He told them he was pinned. He was scared. He thought he was gonna be drowned," Hoss' daughter Brenda Hines said.

Medflight rescued Hoos from the river bank. He was transported to a local hospital and suffered minor injuries.
