OKLAHOMA CITY - A man from New York was arrested early Sunday morning after an overnight pursuit and drug confiscation.

The incident started when Trooper Derek Miller tried to pull over the suspect's semi-truck on Interstate 40 near El Reno Avenue Saturday night. The suspect, Mohamed Rafeeq, rammed his truck into the trooper's vehicle, police said.

Captain Chris West said Miller fired shots into the radiator of the semi to attempt to disable it. No one hit by the gunfire.

Rafeeq took off on foot and troopers and helicopters from the Oklahoma Police Department pursued him for almost three hours.

Captain West said authorities confiscated almost 350 pounds of marijuana from the semi-truck.

Rafeeq faces assault and drug charges.
