HORSEMEN STANDINGS at Remington Park
Quinonez leads jockeys
Luis Quinonez of Jones, Okla. maintains the top spot in the Remington Park jockey standings through 24 racing dates with 25 wins. Hot on the trail to the top if Eddie Martin, Jr. with 23 wins.

Jockey Quincy Hamilton is a very close third with 22 wins. He enjoyed a riding triple last Saturday on the Oklahoma Classics night program.

Asmussen alone at the top again
Defending Remington Park training champion Steve Asmussen, of Arlington, Texas, has been in the lead locally since the first night of the season and after 24 days, has maintained the top ranking with 19 wins.

Bret Calhoun was tied with Asmussen at the top to start last week but has now fallen to sole position of second-place with 16 victories.

John Locke is alone in third-place with 11 wins.

Asmussen is still on top in the North American trainer standings with 474 wins thru Sept. 28, including his win with defending Horse of the Year Curlin in the Jockey Club Gold Cup last Saturday at Belmont Park. Now with three months left in 2008, Asmussen stands an excellent chance to break his own record for wins in a calendar year. His continental-wide operation won 555 races in 2004.

Calhoun is now seventh in North American wins with 167.

The Asmussen stable earnings are all alone in North America as they have surpassed $19 million thru Sept. 28.

Three-way tie for the owner standing lead
Pin Oak Stable of Versailles, Ky. relinquished their sole possession of the lead in the owner standings last week. They are now joined at the front of the list by Carl Moore Management of Kennedale, Texas and Gary Owens of Mustang, Okla.

Owens is the five-time defending leading owner at Remington Park.
Both Pin Oak Stable and Carl Moore Management are seeking their first owner championship at Remington Park.
