Oklahoma attorney resigns

OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma attorney and general counsel of the Oklahoma Bar Association Dan Murdock announced he will be stepping down at the end of the year.

Murdock was charged with two counts of sexual battery earlier this year for an incident that happened at Remington Park.

Murdock has served as general counsel for more than 20 years.

President J. William Conger upon accepting Murdock's resignation stated, "Dan Murdock has given much to this association and to the lawyers of this state. I am saddened to receive his resignation. Professionally and personally, he will be missed by the bar association and the countless lawyers he has worked with. I wish nothing but the best for him in the future."

Murdock will remain as general counsel until the end of the year and will spend that time preparing his office for the transition.

OBA Executive Director John Morris Williams commented, "Dan is a big part of the glue that holds this place together. He is a friend, trusted advisor and solid team player for all of us at the OBA. He has had an outstanding career here, and I will miss him more than I can express."

No replacement has been named.
