DEL CITY, Okla. -- A 2-year-old girl taken by her father Monday morning was returned safely to her mother Monday evening, authorities said.

Hannah Quisenberry-Drennan was found with her father, Boyd Ray Quisenberry, 30, at a northeast Oklahoma City apartment complex about 7 p.m., Del City police detective Jody Suit said.

Quisenberry took Hannah from her grandmother's house about 10 a.m. Monday. Police say the girl's mother jumped onto the car in an effort to stop Quisenberry but fell off.

Suit said Quisenberry later telephoned the family from a pay phone in Oklahoma City.

The child was not harmed and Quisenberry was not arrested, but he was served with a protective order. He is not allowed to come near Hannah or her mother until he appears before a judge on the matter, Suit said.

Quisenberry and his wife are separated. The wife told police he has threatened to kill her and her mother, he said.
