Two children safe after overnight abduction

Two children had a scary experience Saturday night when their father abducted them and took them into the woods.

LOGAN COUNTY, Okla. -- Two children had a scary experience Saturday night when their father abducted them and took them into the woods.

Logan County Sheriffs deputies said the father had been drinking when he took off into the woods near his home with his kids around 10 p.m.

Sheriff's deputies were fortunately able to catch the man a short time later.

His fiancée said the suspect had been making threatening remarks all day.

"He started talking about kicking me out and kicking my daughter out, and killing my animals, and threatening my sister and threatening my brother-in-law," fiancée Cindy Ripka said.

Authorities said the two children appeared to be ok, but were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
