Halloween contest Friday, November racing begins

OKLAHOMA CITY - Halloween Night is back at Remington Park this Friday. Thoroughbred racing thrills and excitement accompany the chills expected from the various ghouls and goblins outfitted for the evening at the track.

Guests are encouraged to dress for the costume contest, featuring cash prizes! The Halloween costume judging will take place on the Clubhouse level at Remington Park from 7-9 p.m. on Friday. Guests 18 and over can enter the contest.

Children wearing costumes are encouraged to visit the Racing Information Center on the south track-level to receive their Halloween treats.

Saturday features another doubleheader College Gameday experience with Points & Penalty Payoffs on the casino floor during the Iowa State vs. OSU game at 2:30 p.m., followed by the Nebraska vs. OU game at 7 p.m. Every time there is a score or a penalty, in either game, cash prizes will be awarded through hot seat drawings. Guests playing on the casino floor, using their Lucky Circle Club card, are eligible to win.

Saturday Nite Cash takes place again after the races, giving guests more chances to win big money immediately after the final event has been made official. When the last winner has been recognized on Saturday, proceed to the casino and take part in the drawings that begin at 11:15 p.m. for total prize money of $2,500!

The $1,000 Crest Foods Grocery Card proved to be so popular in October that it will continue through November as part of our Fun Sundays. Play on the Casino floor between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Sundays in November for your chance to win the grocery gift card.

The 2008 Thoroughbred Season continues with live racing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 6:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon racing gets underway at 1:30 p.m. The season continues through Dec. 14.

Quinonez Returns To The Top

Luis Quinonez of Jones, Oklahoma,  has made his way back to the top of the Remington Park rider standings, moving ahead of Eddie Martin, Jr. with 43 wins.

Martin is now second with 41 while Remington Park's all-time leading rider Cliff Berry has made a move into a tie for third. Berry has 32 wins, along with Quincy Hamilton.

Quinonez is on a quest for his first leading rider title in Oklahoma City.

Asmussen - Clear Leader

Defending Remington Park training champion Steve Asmussen, of Arlington, Texas, now has some breathing room at the top of the trainer standings with 33 wins.

Bret Calhoun has pressured Asmussen throughout most of the season but is now eight back with 25 victories in second-place. Donnie Von Hemel and John Locke are tied in third positions with 18 wins each.

Through racing of October 26, Asmussen has 513 wins for the year and his stable has earned $20.8 million. He now has two months remaining in 2008 to try and top his own record for wins in a calendar year. His continental-wide operation won 555 races in 2004.

Owner Standings Update

Pin Oak Stable of Versailles, Kentucky, has regained the lead in the owner standings but the race looks like it will come down to the final weekend of the season in mid-December.

Pin Oak Stable runners have won 8 races this season at Remington Park, one more than a pair of operations tied for second.

Carl Moore Management of Kennedale, Texas and Gary Owens of Mustang, Oklahoma, each have a share of second with seven wins. Owens is the five-time defending owner champion and seeks title number six in a row.

Pin Oak Stable and Carl Moore Management are looking for their first Remington Park titles.

Big money opportunities abound after the races on Saturdays during the 20th Anniversary Thoroughbred Season at Remington Park when Saturday Nite Cash returns!

Stay with Remington Park after the live racing program concludes and proceed to the Casino floor. A series of five drawings will begin at 11:15 p.m. Each drawing is worth a minimum of $500. A total of $2,500 will be given away throughout the five drawings which take place every 15 minutes.

Entries into Saturday Nite Cash can be acquired by visiting the Lucky Circle Club and by wagering on the horse races starting at 6:30 p.m. Every time a wager is made with a mutuel clerk, the guest will receive an additional entry slip into the Saturday Nite Cash drawings. The guest is required to fill out the additional entries, legibly, and deposit them into the proper drawing tumbler on the casino floor.
