Horse dies, girl injured in vehicle crash

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A girl was injured Sunday night when she was riding her horse and it ran into traffic, police said.

A girl and her family were riding horses near NE 63 Street Sunday night. Her horse got spooked, ran into traffic and the girl was thrown off when the horse was struck by a vehicle, authorities said.

The horse died at the scene. The girl was taken to OU Medical Center, and she is expected to recover.

Police had to call for back up during the incident when family members got into a fight.
