NICHOLS HILLS, Oklahoma - A 91-year-old woman was beaten to death Monday night at her Nichols Hills home.
Virginia Holstein was found dead early Tuesday in her home near the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club at about midnight, said Jessica Brown, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman.
Authorities arrested Holstein's son on a first-degree murder complaint.
Jon Holstein, 59, was booked into the Oklahoma County jail, Brown said.
Investigators did not reveal a motive for the crime.
"We're looking into that, we have nothing concrete," Brown said.
Brown said the OSBI is investigating at the request of Nichols Hills police.
She said she was not sure why the local police asked for assistance, but said it is not unusual.
"We don't get a lot of homicides over there, because it's such a nice area."
Nichols Hills police referred all questions to Brown.
District Attorney David Prater said he won't decide what charge to file until the OSBI submits its reports to him.
