Traffic is flowing smoothly again on Highway 99 after a series of pile-ups
this morning due to heavy fog, in Tulare County, California today.
In the end, two people were injured and 49 vehicles and four big rigs were
damaged southwest of Visalia.
The four chain-reaction accidents, caused by fog, beginning at 8 a.m. scattered broken glass
and mangled cars along a 10-mile stretch near the Visalia Municipal Airport.
Visibility was less than 200 feet when California Highway Patrol officers got
to the scene.
The two victims are being treated at local hospitals.
Authorities says all lanes are now back open.
