SEILING, Oklahoma -- Three teens are in custody following a chase that led to their fleeing on foot.
According to police, the chase began shortly after the teens fled the scene where they were allegedly breaking into cars at a nearby apartment complex. When they were spotted in Waynoka, the chase ensued.
The teens fled on foot, after crashing just north of Seiling.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lieutenant Stan Walker said the teens are juvenile escapees from northern Kansas, near the Nebraska border. One of the teens escaped one month ago and returned to help the other two teens escape.
Troopers said the teens were taken into custody at 1 p.m. after being spotted hiding in a brush pile just northwest of Seiling near the airport.
Superintendent Bob Bush in Seiling said the school was on lock-down as a precaution.
No injuries were reported.
