OKLAHOMA CITY -- A fire at a southwest Oklahoma City apartment complex Sunday night displaced multiple residents and injured one.
A residency on the second floor of The Portland House Apartments on SW 39th and Portland Avenue was severely damaged by the fire. Fire crews said when they arrived the entire apartment was engulfed in flames.
With temperatures near freezing, many residents displaced by the fire have been forced to find alternative shelter.
No one was severely injured by the fire, but one resident did suffer smoke inhalation.
"We did have one person that complained of trouble breathing due to smoke inhalation. We had a fire crew take that person to EMSA, who evaluated that person," Oklahoma City Fire Battalion Chief Randy Cornelius said.
The victim's name and condition have not been released.
The apartment where the fire started sustained $75,000 in damage and the apartment below had heavy water damage.
Fire investigators are still working to determine what caused the fire.
