A winter storm dumped 2 to 3 inches of snow on the Kansas City area today. Most of the snow fell in the morning, slowing the morning commute. Dozens of cars slid off roads, but no wrecks with significant injuries were reported. Numerous schools on the Missouri side closed, while most remained opened on the Kansas side. Some later canceled evening activities. Some churches also elected not to continue with their evening plans. Road crews continued to work to clear the streets before the Tuesday evening commute.
