Inmate Escapes, Allegedly Headed Home for Christmas

A 41-year-old inmate escaped from the Department of Corrections Wednesday, while he was assigned to a work detail in McClain County.

UNION CITY, Oklahoma -- A 41-year-old inmate escaped from the Department of Corrections Wednesday, while he working on a work detail in McClain County.

Police described Michael Keith Jackson as a white male possibly driving a 1995 Chevy pickup truck labeled Forestry of Department of Agriculture. Authorities said he could be driving to Oklahoma City where his relatives live. He reportedly told other inmates he was going home for Christmas.

Jackson was in a program designed for low risk inmates and was serving time for multiple convictions for burglary and drug possession as well as two convictions for escape and convictions for transporting a firearm and for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
