You didn't think the unseasonably warm conditions could last forever, did you? After Friday high temperatures reached the 60s, 70s and 80s, a sharply colder Canadian air mass enveloped the state Friday night and Saturday morning. Wind chill values will remain in the single numbers and teens for much of Saturday morning with actual air temperatures hovering in the 20s and low 30s. Gusty north winds will gradually subside throughout Saturday afternoon, but don't expect much of a warm up. Saturday highs will fall some 25 to 35 degrees shy of Friday highs; temperatures will top out in the upper 30s and middle 40s Saturday afternoon.

Warmer conditions will return on Sunday ahead of a reinforcing shot of cool air arriving Monday; the warm to cold extreme will not be as great the weekend's. The coldest conditions of the workweek will arrive Wednesday and Thursday, as another dome of Arctic air spills southward out of Canada.
