Search Underway for Attempted Carjacker

MANGUM, Oklahoma -- The Greer County's Sheriff's office is searching for a man who tried to yank a woman from her car in southwestern Oklahoma.

Greer County Undersheriff Shawn Laughlin said a woman driving on Highway 283 near Willow saw a man lying in a ditch. He said the woman pulled over to see if the man needed help. The man attempted the car jacking this afternoon near Highway 34 north of Mangum.

Laughlin said the man fled on foot and the woman received medical treatment at the scene.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol assisted in the search.
