OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City Fire Department was on the scene of an animal rescue Thursday evening.
Some cattle fell through ice covering a pond near Interstate 44 and SW 89 Street. Oklahoma City Animal Control assisted with the rescue.
Warmer weather throughout the metro has melted ice and snow, causing frozen ponds to begin thawing.
The cattle were rescued quickly. No reports whether the cold temperatures contributed to hypothermia.
