COPY-Father Confesses to Killing 6-Year-Old

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A Logan County man was arrested this morning after confessing to killing his 6-year-old child, police said.

Denise Anderson, 6, was reported missing Sunday night by her mother. Her body was found early Monday morning in a wooded area near Star-Spencer High School just east of Oklahoma City, said Oklahoma City Police Lt. Don Holland.

The girl's father, Matthew Peoples, 23, was arrested on a murder complaint. Peoples initially told police he had dropped Denise off at her mother's, but later admitting to killing the 6-year-old.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is on the scene in Spencer and at People's home in Guthrie trying to determine where the murder took place, Holland said.
