Midwest City Police Investigate First Homicide of 2009

MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma - A 78-year-old woman was found dead inside her home Monday evening.

Police said Alma Block was found dead after her friend called 911 at about 6:05 p.m. Block's friend had allegedly come to her house to pick her up for a prayer meeting at church.

According to police, the investigation is being treated as a homicide.

Midwest City Police are working with the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office and the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office.
