From News9 meteorologist Stephanie Malone...
Warmer temperatures and strong winds have increased the risk for wildfires in western Oklahoma this afternoon. With temperatures in the 70s, wind gusts in the 40s and relative humidity levels at 10 to 20 percent, the fire growth potential has drastically increased.
A red flag warning and a wind advisory has been issued for western Oklahoma until 7 pm. Make sure to prevent wildfires by not throwing cigarettes out the window and not burning trash.
Winds are expected to decrease tonight and into tomorrow.
