Dean Blevins to Return to the Sports Blitz

OKLAHOMA CITY -- NEWS 9 Sports Director Dean Blevins will return to the "Oklahoma Sports Blitz" Sunday after recovering from a serious head injury.

Blevins slipped on an icy surface at his home in Edmond on January 26. He has been in therapy for the injury to his brain he sustained from the fall. He was hospitalized for about one week.

Blevins has been eager to get back to work covering Oklahoma sports. He phoned in for a special segment on the "Oklahoma Sports Blitz" on Sunday, Feb. 15.

Blevins is well known for being the last player to play both basketball and football for the Sooners in the last 45 years.

The eight-time Oklahoma Sportscaster of the Year and two-time Emmy-winning sportscaster has been the Sports Director at NEWS 9 for the last seven years.
