A late season arctic air mass arrived late Friday night, early Saturday morning, bringing very cold air and biting winds to the state. The sunny skies expected Saturday afternoon won't be enough to win out over the cold; temperatures will only reach the 30s and 40s Saturday with wind chill values in the 20s and 30s.
Thankfully the cold air intrusion will be short-lived, as a ridge of high pressure builds eastward into the Central Plains by Monday. With the exception of Monday morning, conditions will warm on both side of the spectrum with morning lows in the 30s and 40s, and daytime highs in the 60s and 70s during the work week.
