Court Date Set in Cushing Murders

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- A court date has been set for a man charged with killing three people in Cushing.

Robert Barela, 20, is charged with killing Albert Sernas, Elizabeth Hueser and Douglas Peck at a Cushing residence.

Barela's preliminary hearing was set to begin today, but a spokesman for the Payne County District Court Clerk says it's been scheduled for May 18.

The Payne County district attorney says he'll seek the death penalty.
